In 8th grade, I had a dream – that one day I would bike across the US.
11 years later, that dream is finally coming true.
In April of 2018, I will cycle self-supported for 4,200 miles on the TransAmerica Trailmonths. My journey from Virginia to Oregon should take 2 – 3 months. I’ll carry my own tent, prepare my own food, and rely on the hospitality of strangers for a warm shower. It has taken years for me to get to where I am now, to muster the courage and the money to make this decision.
I’ll be sharing weekly blog updates on my journey here under the tag #bikeahn and on Instagram @dantahn.
Preparing for this adventure, I realized, not everyone is fortunate enough to have the opportunity to pursue their dreams, which is why I am turning my dream of biking across the US into a mission to help others. I’m inviting you to join me.
If a bicycle can change my life, it can change the lives of others. My mission is to raise $50,000. I want to help 340 people through the power of bicycles.
I’ve personally donated 10% of my money, $1,470, to help 10 people.
